Equarius Hotel
K’s proposal for J was held during their staycation at Equarius Hotel. We explored the theme of recreating a beach as J loved water sports and feeling the sand on her feet as well as the vast expanse of the sea. Elements of the beach were recreated through seashells, stones, and sand contained in a glass vessel where the ring box was placed over almost like it was levitating.
We chose to go with a more muted palette of dark red, paired against white and light blue so that the forms and textures of the florals would stand out more than the colours. A vibrant colour palette would probably not suit the abstract beach theme here.

Stones and seashells scattered on the shore.
Hanging amaranthus with curved forms that complement the prints on the carpet flooring.
An abstract representation of the sea and the textures observed on the coral reef with florals such as smokebush, amaranthus and thryptomene.
The ‘Marry Me’ sign was handpainted by K himself and his friend to add a personal touch to the setup.
Couldn’t fit a coconut tree so some fallen coconuts did the trick.
